Jetstar reopens a beloved international route, offering direct flights from Sydney to Japan for the first time in 15 years. Passengers can now secure tickets for just $363. The budget airline's inaugural flight from Sydney to Osaka departed on Tuesday morning, marking the revival of this long-awaited route. Utilizing its 787 Boeing Dreamliner aircraft, Jetstar plans to operate three return services weekly along this route. Customers can now seize over 100,000 low-cost seats annually for flights between these two cities.

Jenn Armor, Jetstar's Executive Manager of Customer Relations, expressed the airline's enthusiasm for reintroducing this sought-after route. "This marks our third direct service to Japan from Australia within the past six months and the second to Osaka, reflecting the robust demand we've observed," she stated. Osaka, renowned as Japan's culinary hub, promises Aussie travelers a diverse array of experiences, from vibrant night markets to street food stalls and Michelin-starred dining.

Flight bookings, starting at $363, are available for travel until Saturday, with additional slots opening from Sunday, April 8th, through October 5th. Passengers are advised that checked baggage is not included in the airfare price. Osaka's reputation as Japan's street food capital precedes it, offering tourists an enticing outdoor dining scene.

In a recent survey conducted by the Tourism and Transport Forum of Australia, Tokyo emerged as the top overseas destination on Aussie holidaymakers' wish lists, surpassing Bali. Singapore, Osaka, and Kyoto also ranked among the most desired spots. Additionally, the survey revealed that Japan stood as the third most popular country for summer holiday plans among travelers.
